I must tell you folks, i went to this amazing restaurant on the weekend. It is called Burma Superstar . Simply put, one of the best foods i had here in san fran. As you all know me, i am a fine-food hunter, and i usually try every little food joint. And, luckily, i found this one.

The food is amazing, the place not as good as the food. The prices are somewhat average but the experience of trying burmese cuisine is unbeatable. I really suggest those who want to try new flavors to get there and try the Classic Burmese Chicken Casserole with Cardamom Cinnamon Rice... It's a traditional must.

Some said to me that San Francisco would be a major insanity, as far as people are concerned. And, yes, last week a could sense what they were trying to tell me. This amazing run, which takes place on the city every year since 1912, is a major exemple how san fran is like. Everybody dressed up in costumes, goes from the center to golden gate park. Some running, some walking, some in costumes, some naked and everybody really enjoying the day (which in this case was sunny and really warm) 

Lots and lots of people dressed up in cool costumes, enjoying themselves. One strange thing i noticed is that people were drinking booze on the street, not that i disagree with that (specially that in Brasil is pretty common to have your beer on the street) but here is a major "civil-ghost" (actually, i dont understand why) but still. Anyway, people were drinking, having fun and so did I.

all right, i went to coachella. It was (forgive my language) FUCKING awesome.

I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. This huge polo field with like 7 stages, but not regular stages... There were tents, as well. Between these stages there were lots of artistic installations. Like 200.000 people were walking in there under a 130oF sunheat. Yeah, that's mojave. Hot and "musical". I saw pretty much stuff that i had never heard before. Like the MSTRKRFT, wow, some DJ i might say. Another great surprise is Klaxons. These Brit youngsters blow the stage out with their dirty guitars and loud shouting, great songs (i 've already got the CD.) Css, the brazilian folks there were good too, specially when they played a L7 cover song. Red Hot Chili Peppers were outstanding. Frist because they are, in some way, part of my young adult life (I heard the chili peppers a LOT from 18 to 25) I know the blood sugar sex magik album by heart (Although they did not play my fav  from this CD, power of equality) well, they were AMAZING. Tapes'n'Tapes were great discovery also. Air were delayed by 50mim so i had the chance to hear only one song. And the great attraction for my was !!!(chik chik chik) I knew them before coachella, but live the band grew 10 times. The main vocal was dancing like a insame man. The other players were frantically playing as though they were hypnotized by  the place.  AMAZING xperience.

What is this thing about puting rice in the burritos? In South America, rice and beans are common in lunch and dinners (mostly in luch, when you talk about Brazil.) But burrito is a snack. And for this brazilian eyes right here, seems reeealy bizarre to eat your lunch wrapped in a flour pancake. For starters, lunch in Brazil is the principal meal course in the day. Normally, everyday meals in brazil are as follows: Breakfast, Coffee and Milk with a french bread (it's like those sourdough breads, but smaller, about the size of a fist.) with butter. Some like toast, some like curd with fruits and other like the "pão de queijo"- P-ah-oon deh keh-ee-joh Is a small pastry made of manioc flour, eggs and cheese. A reeelay nice cup of coffee in the end.
In lunch hour, brazilians eat for good. Rice and beans are always (or almost always) in everyone's plate. Beef steaks, grilled chicken, french fries, fried eggs, sausages (actually they are not sausages, they are raw....we call it lingüiças - Leen-gwee-ssahs). And we eat big time.  In dinner, it's a small meal... Actually, is like the breakfast (though, some like to eat a meal just like lunch.)
That's why i am soooo damn bothered by this. It's like to have the lunch in a snack hour. Well, it is said. Die Rice and beans burritos, die.
